As a Southern Baptist Church, the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message stands as our corporate doctrinal statement.
We find the 9 Marks of a Healthy Church as they are outlined by Pastor Mark Dever from Capitol Hill Baptist Church to be Biblical and helpful.
We also heartily ascribe to Together for the Gospel’s statement of affirmations and denials, which can be read in full here: T4G Affirmations and Denials
We exist by the grace of God, for the glory of God, to spread the Gospel of God.
In brief, we aim to accomplish our mission by cultivating an environment of deep adoration through Biblical proclamation. We want the beauty of Maui that surrounds us to pale in comparison to the deep adoration we have of the glory and beauty of our great God. This is the chief function of the Word of God--to produce worship--as such we strive to be thoroughly Biblical in word and deed.
In relation to God: Listening to God’s Word and responding through worship. This is accomplished as we corporately gather on the Lord's Day.
Colossians 3:16 - "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
In relation to one another: Growth through personal study and fellowship with other believers. We come together in small groups on Sunday mornings and during the week to cultivate these relationships.
Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
In relation to the world: Serving the world by sharing the gospel. We will be strategic and intentional in local and global missions.
Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
