“Mental Illness” is on the rise according to various reports. It is so common that our culture now tends to speak in terms of “mental health.” This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, we must ask the question, what is the root of the problem? And does psychiatry and psychology accurately account for the complexity of humanity? Most have been told that it does and simply accept it at face value. These are questions and conversations this series aims to address.

In part 1, Dr. Heath Lambert explored how “psychiatry doesn’t provide the clarity of diagnosis and treatment we expect from many other scientific disciplines.” This will be teased out more in part 3 and part 4 in astonishing fashion.

In part 2 Dr. Heath Lambert examines how our culture tends to “adopt the prevailing secular understanding that extreme problems are biological problems.” He goes to show how the Scriptures holistically account for all the problems we face, including the extreme ones. We will return next week with part 3 & 4.
